"A LICENSE TO STEAL"

Part 2 - The Public Sector

Photos of Public Sector Expropriation of Ferrovias Guatemala Right-of-Way

In "A License to Steal" Part 1, I personally photographed theft of Ferrovias Guatemala's infrastructure by scrap metal thieves...or parties interested in seeing irreplaceable bridges collapse in the next earthquake. In contrast, these photos document theft that is both blatant and institutionalized--namely, by the public sector.

The below photos, taken by our management team, document the systematic expropriation of our most valuable asset, our right-of-way, in three different locations. Once again, the photos speak for themselves as highly visible evidence of the effects of the Declaration of Lesivo against Ferrovias Guatemala.

We are of course consistently reporting each of these incidents to the government, consistent with our responsibility for protecting these irreplaceable and valuable national assets to the best of our ability in the current environment.
