Ida Posner
Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Ida oversees RDC's internal operations and supports its portfolio of businesses in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. She leads strategic planning and business development for the firm and serves as a Director of the Iowa Interstate Railroad, RDC-Deutschland, Eurorail, and RailPulse, where she is Vice Chair.
In addition to her role at RDC, Ida is the Founder and Managing Partner of Hawthorne Food Ventures, a venture capital fund that invests in startups reducing food waste. She is passionate about food systems and transportation, and the intersection of the two.
Ida is a Trustee of the Posner Foundation of Pittsburgh and a board member of ReFED, the leading US nonprofit solving food loss and waste.
Previously, Ida was a Program Associate at the Pisces Foundation where she supported program strategy and grants management with a focus on the climate and energy portfolio. Before the Pisces Foundation, she worked in Kenya developing renewable energy microgrid systems at SteamaCo (formerly access:energy), a startup renewable energy and technology company based in Kisumu.
Ida holds a BSE from Princeton University and an MBA from Columbia Business School and serves on the Princeton CEE Advisory Council.
