James Kornas

James works closely with RDC's family ownership, executive leadership, portfolio company management teams, and industry partners to strengthen the performance of existing investments while helping identify and execute new opportunities across freight rail, passenger rail, logistics, rolling stock, and other rail-adjacent business opportunities.

He brings more than two decades of leadership across business development, railroad operations, and commercial strategy. HIs career builds on early operational experience with Norfolk Southern and Canadian National and as General Manager of the Adrian & Blissfield Railroad. He then joined EnviroSolutions, where he directed an integrated rail and trucking transportation network supporting one of the nation's largest landfill operations, gaining valuable experience from the shipper's perspective. Kornas subsequently spent nearly a decade with Patriot Rail Company as Vice President of Operations and later Vice President of Commercial Development and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Most recently, James served as Executive Vice President of Rail at Ozinga, where he led enterprise-wide rail strategy for one of the Midwest's largest family-owned construction materials companies.

James holds a BS in Industrial Management and Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
