Background
Founded in 1990, Eurorail is a leading logistics and rail forwarding operator based in Aalst, Belgium (a suburb of Brussels). As a pioneer in the revival of rail freight transportation in western Europe, Eurorail focuses on single wagonloads and the development of feeder lines.
Eurorail has warehouse locations in: Bayonne, Le Boulou, Golbey, Lieusaint, and Castelguelfo (Italy).
In December 2012, RDC and Eurorail formed a 50/50 joint venture, RégioRail, in order to develop and manage French feeder lines, in partnership with local shareholders. RégioRail specializes in first kilometer/last kilometer Le Boulou warehouse transport, handing over wagonloads to long-haul rail carriers.
In December 2014, RDC entered into a minority shareholding in Eurorail.
Regiorail has become a countrywide player; one of the top 5 French railway undertakings serving a range of industries with both short-distance and long-haul trains.
