Ida Posner
Chief Operating Officer
Ida manages the internal operations of RDC and supports RDC’s portfolio of businesses in the USA, Europe, and Latin America. She serves as a Director of the Iowa Interstate Railroad, RDC-Deutschland, Eurorail, and RailPulse and leads strategic planning and business development for the firm.
In addition to her role at RDC, Ida is the Founder and Managing Partner of Hawthorne Food Ventures, a venture capital fund that invests in startups reducing food waste. She is passionate about food systems and transportation, and the intersection of the two.
Ida is a Strategic Advisor to the Posner Foundation of Pittsburgh and a board member of ReFED, the leading US nonprofit solving food loss and waste, and American Jewish World Service, a global nonprofit working to end poverty and promote human rights.
Previously, Ida was a Program Associate at the Pisces Foundation where she supported program strategy and grants management for foundation's $15 million grantmaking portfolio. Before the Pisces Foundation, she worked in Kenya developing renewable energy microgrid systems at SteamaCo (formerly access:energy), a startup renewable energy and technology company based in Kisumu.
Ida holds a BSE from Princeton University and an MBA from Columbia Business School and serves on the Princeton CEE Advisory Council.
